Govardhan Puja

This festival celebrates the divine play of Sri Krishna, who held up the Govardhan Hill with his little finger for seven days to protect the inhabitants of Vrindavana from the torrential rains sent by the demigod Indra. To celebrate this festival, devotees create a replica of Govardhan Hill out of various sweets and offer it to Sri Krishna. Afterwards, the Maha-Prasadam is distributed to everyone!
