Nityananda Trayodasi

Sri Nityananda's birth in this world is called Nityananda Trayodasi and takes place in the spring. Sri Nityananda, the brother of Sri Chaitanya, always accompanies the Lord in all of His incarnations: as Balarama – the beloved brother of Sri Krishna, and as Lakshmana – the younger brother of Lord Ramacandra. Nityananda is known for His compassion, even toward the most fallen beings, and is considered the original spiritual master of all seeking souls. Devotees fast on this day until noon, followed by a feast in His honor.
