Biography
Nrsimha Kavaca dasa is ISKCON’s Deity Worship Minister. He began devotional service in 1980 and joined the temple in Melbourne, Australia in 1985. Nrsimha Kavaca, immediately was attracted to deity worship, making friends with and learning from the temple's head pujari. He currently is based at ISKCON New Govardhana, in northern New South Wales, Australia, along with his wife, Asesa Sadhini dd. He has spent most his devotional career travelling and preaching, including six years in Poland with his Guru Maharaja, H.H. Indradyumna Swami, on the Polish Tour. Since 1999 has presented classes on deity worship in Mayapur and around the world. Besides travelling and teaching, Nrsimha Kavaca has many other responsibilities:
reviewing and revising ISKCON'S book of Deity worship, Pancaratra Pradipa
writing and presenting courses in order to give guidance and inspiration to temple pujaris
traveling to guide and inspire temple pujaris.
Nrsimha Kavaca, along with Jananivasa and Pankajanghri prabhus has established the Mayapur Academy to offer pujaris first-class training to take back to their home temples. He finds that although many devotees are engaged in Deity worship, few have made the commitment to be primarily pujaris. His aim is to have at least one devotee in each temple who is fully trained and committed to engaging in Deity worship, as well as inspiring and teaching others. In a word, he describes his service as, ecstatic!
