Ekadashi is the eleventh lunar day after the new and full moon, in the phase of the waning and waxing moon. This period is an extremely auspicious time to fast, meditate, improve spiritual practices, and minimize physical needs. Krishna devotees fast on these days to spend more time chanting and hearing about Krishna.
